With the final few weeks of summer dwindling to an end, it's tough not to get nostalgic over the late-evening sunsets, the barbecues, and the frozen desserts. While we had to battle sweaty t-shirts, mosquitoes, and hordes of tourists, summer has more magical moments (in my opinion) than it does downsides. Imagine that first bite of ice cream, while your skin crackles in the hot sunshine. Sunglasses tint the world around you and the soft-serve guy offers you chocolate shell or sprinkle toppings on your vanilla cone.
Nothing beats that!
While the other seasons have their own happy moments, summertime joys are as simplistic and wondrous as childhood itself. It reminds us of the years we were free and feral, running around town with nothing but a bicycle and a few quarters in our pockets for a scoop at the local shop. And although we're looking forward to a crisp fall breeze around the corner, we must relish the happy moments we can still live today.
